Neemias Silva Santos was born in Brazil. He holds a BM in string performance. He has performed and taught throughout Brazil, Argentina, Switzerland, Portugal and the US. He holds a master's degree from The Pennsylvania State University and two doctorates from Texas Tech University, where he was a cello teaching assistant, assistant graduate conductor and recording studio manager/engineer. He is an accomplished composer and arranger and his works have been performed in the Americas and Europe. Before joining Frenship ISD, he was a supplemental instructor for the Abilene ISD, orchestra director for All-Saints Episcopal School, and taught at Abilene Christian University, Hardin-Simmons University, Angelo State University, Texas A&M International University and Texas A&M University in Kingsville. He has played for the Lubbock Symphony, Abilene Symphony and Amarillo Symphony as a cellist and Kingsville Symphony as Principal bass. 

He is married and has two daughters.
