Hello, Alcove Trails Middle School!

My name is Dr. Josh Wheeler, and I am thrilled to be joining Frenship ISD this year and serving as assistant principal at ATMS.  I’m coming to Alcove Trails after spending the last decade at Lubbock Christian University in the School of Education, helping to prepare future teachers.  I earned my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Lubbock Christian University and my doctorate at Texas Tech University in Educational Leadership.  I’m excited to be joining the rest of my family who are all in Frenship—my wife Mandy is a school counselor, and my son Jackson and daughter Ellie are both proud Tigers! 

I truly believe that education is the key to any future a student can dream of, and I’m excited to be a part of their journey as they learn, grow, and develop into that future.  It is a joy to partner with families and teachers as we all help our students achieve amazing things.  There is excellence in every single kid!!  Families—thank you for sharing your students with us!  We count ourselves blessed to work with them each day, and we want nothing more than to see them succeed!
